                  Not happy with the cycling to miles conversion. One of my teammates did a 100km bike race this weekend in 3:30:00. Posting in Racery, it wouldn’t take miles, only time. Cycling-Vigorous choice only gave him 19 running miles. 19 miles in 3.5 hours is like a 10+ minute mile pace. Not exactly “vigorous”! Have any other cyclists out there found a different way to record this ride?

                  I don't see a way to change cycling to miles, but if it's recorded as running/walking instead of cycling, you can log it as miles! Not a perfect solution, but could be an alternative to make sure those miles get counted after all of that work!
                  Hi everyone! Racery has been contacted and they updated the conversion rate for "cycling-vigorous" so that you get credited for more miles! They will go back and retroactively change past miles to the new conversion rates. If anyone did record cycling miles as running miles, please go back and delete those and record as cycling; while vigorous cycling is no joke, it probably shouldn't be counted one-for--one with running on our route.                   Thanks for the update! I’m not sure the new conversion is that much better. It said my 75 minutes of vigorous cycling was only 10 miles. It’s really more like 22.
                  @lyncup Thanks for the feedback! So your ride was 22 miles long? The thing that's a bit tricky is that, in a race like this, it isn't quite fair to have one bike mile = one running mile. So, the conversions don't represent the actual miles you traveled, but attempt to level the playing field with so many forms of exercise represented! I'm so grateful that you are biking and exercising for Shade - thank you!!!
                  @lyncup @Claire_Fedele it important to remember that Racery uses a running mile equivalent. They convert our efforts into run-miles. That’s the beauty of this platform. We can all compete in our own way, and still race together. If you do an hour of vigorous cycling, you will get a running mile equivalent. If I do an hour on the rower, it gets a running mile equivalent Eve does an hour of pickleball, she gets a running mile equivalent. . It’s all part of the fun!

                  Start in Shinyanga at the Shade Campus and loop through 605 miles of territory to the south, ending back on campus. Check out sites along the way and learn about our mission and beautiful country!

                  Exercise anywhere you want. Then log the activity and see your avatar move across the route. Share your bib on social media! Brag about your streaks or longest mileage!

                  Here are a few handy guidelines:


                  1. Watch this video of Racery pro tips.

                  2. Complete your bio. Include #groups to better track friends or colleagues.

                  3. Update your passcode in settings.

                  4. When you log activities that are not in miles, conversions are based on effort, i.e. 1 hour cycling = ~1 hour swimming = ~1 hour tennis. Just log your activity and we'll convert it to miles! 

                  5. To delete a log, click its gear on the right.

                  6. Don’t like getting the daily Racery emails? Unsubscribe at the bottom of the email.

                  7. SHARE on social media! And when you do, tag SHADE - Tanzania (Facebook) and @shadetz123 (Instagram).

                  8. We rely on the honor system. You don't have to use a device to prove your miles, a good map or watch suffices. But if you use Strava (or want to give it a try), you can link it to Racery to record your miles.

                  9. Only log intentional exercise, please.

                  10. Attribute your exercise to the appropriate day—don't combine workouts from multiple days.

                  11. Activities submitted after the race ends will not count toward race leaderboards.
